Hi , The name of Thomas Edison is synonymous with many innovations, most notably the electric light bulb. What’s not so readily known is that Edison was not at all a lone inventor. He had a small, multi-national team of dedicated colleagues who worked strenuously-and joyfully-together. Included were an English machinist, a Swiss clockmaker, a German glassblower, and an ivy-league trained mathematician. Today’s workforce is vastly more diverse than Edison’s group—and very much in need of team-building. ART FOR LUNCH is a terrific and effective activity to increase group communication, improve problem-solving skills, and enhance relationships. More details at www.artforlunch.com. Prudy Kohler Founder, ART FOR LUNCH IT'S NEVER TOO EARLY...Retreat Planning: While it may be only mid-summer, autumn will be here before we know it. If you’re seeking a fresh, innovative idea for a fall retreat, ART FOR LUNCH is a perfect solution. Sessions can be provided at off site locations (retreat centers, hotel conference rooms, recreation centers, etc.) and there are a variety of techniques available. ART FOR LUNCH is a great kick-off activity to bring a group together in the morning - or to spark an afternoon session by providing a lift during the post-lunch low-energy period. And it’s also a stunning way to end a day of goal-setting and high-level discussion. Holiday Parties: Autumn is, of course, followed far too quickly by the holiday season. A holiday party becomes memorable with ART FOR LUNCH as an activity. Combine an art-making session with lunch, dinner, cocktails, etc. and people will be talking about the event all year long. Polaroid emulsion or image transfer are popular (participants can bring their own photographs), or a group can create individual collage pieces -- mats or frames are furnished to complete beautiful finished works. Jonathan, an attendee at a party that featured ART FOR LUNCH said: “It was so much fun this year to make art at the office holiday party...people actually wanted to attend, rather than feeling that they had to put in an appearance.”to discuss upcoming fall and holiday activities. |
